The project was located on Out Skerries. These are islets, some inhabited, in Shetland, Scotland, and are the easternmost part of Shetland. Locally, they are usually called Da Skerries or just Skerries.
The project involved designing temporary bridge structures to enable heavy plant access onto Skerries Island using the existing jetty but spanning over the load-rated existing fixed span. The plant was required to carry out refurbishment of the jetty. No craneage would be available for installation or removal of the temporary bridges so a hauling method was developed.
CaSE were employed as design temporary works and develop installation method.
